WELCOME THE NEW YEAR WITH SANGHA

On Sunday, December 29th, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm (or a little later if you can stay), you are invited to a year-end celebration at First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive, Madison.

As we enter a year of uncertainty, we hope you will join us in connecting with others who walk this dhamma path with you. Let’s be together to share our fears, aspirations, sorrows, and joys.

If you are inspired, bring a short reading, a poem, or your thoughts on what might guide or help you in the coming year. In addition, if you want to bring a photograph or object that reminds you of someone you wish to honor, there will be an altar for displaying it.

We will sit for 45 minutes and then share our readings and thoughts.  We will break about 20 minutes early and invite everyone to stay and visit with one another.   Beverages and a few snacks will be provided.  For those who cannot attend in person, please feel free to connect via Google Meet.

On Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:15 pm (or a little later if you can stay), you are invited to join Sangha at 9638 Shadow Ridge Trail, Middleton, to reflect on what has been and what we intend for the coming year.

Together, we will determine the Three Refuges and Five Precepts to establish a solid intention for sila (virtue) and sacca (integrity) in the New Year. During the 45-minute sit, we’ll listen to a short dhamma teaching and have a discussion following. Because of this evening's unique nature, it will be in person only. There will not be an online option for this Tuesday evening.

You are invited to contribute cookies or beverages to share while we visit at the end of the evening.
