A generous heart is the source of happiness
Dana
Our purpose is to provide opportunities for practicing samatha/vipassana meditation and studying Buddhist teachings in the Theravada tradition. We do this in the spirit of dana, or generosity, by which the teachings of the Buddha are considered priceless and therefore offered freely. If you would like to assist us in our mission as part of your own practice of dana, we welcome your thoughtfulness and kindness. You can donate to us as described below. There also are several services related to the retreats we organize that you could help to provide, if they meet your interests or skills.
“What three factors apply to the donor? It’s when a donor is in a good mood before giving, while giving they feel confident, and after giving they’re uplifted. These three factors apply to the donor.” – AN 6.37

Current needs:
Off-Site Zoom Manager
Many of our retreats are presented in hybrid fashion—people have the opportunity to attend remotely via Zoom as well as in person. We would like to have several volunteers who can facilitate Zoom and coordinate with the On-site Tech Manager during retreats. We will provide training for this role.
On-site Technology Manager
This role carries out the technology responsibilities for a retreat that support both on-site and virtual attendees. It includes setting up and operating the audio and video equipment. In addition, the role coordinates with the Off-site Zoom Manager to facilitate a seamless hybrid retreat experience. Some technology familiarity is helpful, but we will provide the specific training needed for this role.
Retreat set-up / tear-down
Prior to the start of each retreat, we arrange the common spaces of our venues to accommodate our needs. At the end of the retreat, we return the spaces to their original condition. Often, there are a few pieces of heavy furniture that need to be moved.
