Join Us for Meditation. Developing a meditation practice is easier in the company of others. We offer three meditations each week in the Madison metropolitan area – one central, one west, and one east. An introduction to meditation is offered on the 2nd Sunday of each month. All are open to everyone and are ‘drop-in’.
30-minute sitting followed by 10-minute movement meditation and Dhamma discussion or talk. This sitting is led by James Meadows, Jayson Chung, and Richard Ely. James has had a meditation practice since 1994, when he spent four months at Wat Pah Nanachat (International Forest Monastery) in Thailand. He has a master’s degree in Buddhist Studies from Naropa University. Jayson was among the first participants in the Madison Insight Meditation Group. 1st, 3rd, 5th Sundays: 45 minutes sitting followed by discussion period. The discussion is led by volunteers from within our our group who offer to lead on a topic of interest to them.
