Although in-person weekly meditations are canceled until further notice, you are invited to join us for
On-line Meditations During the 2020 Pandemic
Below are opportunities to practice together in the virtual realm while our face-to-face gatherings are suspended. All the listed meditation with discussion sessions will be conducted via Zoom videoconferencing (please use computer audio).
A note for Zoom newcomers: Zoom is easy to use. If you’ve never used Zoom, when you click on the hyperlink to join the videoconference, you will be led through a very quick process of downloading a small app or plug-in on your device. Zoom works on a wide variety of desktop, laptop, and mobile devices, even older models.
Once you’ve added the program to your device, then all you’ll need to do each time is click on the link and the Zoom window will appear with a button to join by video. Select the video icon at the bottom of the screen to join the meeting. You’ll notice a microphone icon with which you can mute yourself- so we don’t get distracted by everyone’s background noise.
Every Sunday night, 6 PM to 8 PM
First, Third & Fifth Sunday is a 45-minute meditation followed by a Dhamma offering and discussion.
Beginning on June 28, the 2nd & 4th Sundays will be a 45-minute meditation followed by time for socializing.

Chanting, meditation, and discussion. Led by Janice Sheppard. As is usual for the Tuesday group, we will chant and then meditate until 7:15 pm. The chant book we use is online and if you’d like to follow along you can print out pages 2-8. https://www.abhayagiri.org/books/632-chanting-book-volume-1-morning-and-evening-chanting-and-reflections
Following the meditation, Jan will then share some reflections on a topic, followed by discussion. For some sessions, Jan is inviting meditation teachers/friends from around the country to offer a dhamma reflection for the evening. Join us to learn from teachers far and near! Check here for details about who and when.

Join Us for Meditation. Developing a meditation practice is easier in the company of others. Normally, when not during a pandemic, we offer three meditations each week in the Madison metropolitan area – one central, one west, and one east. An introduction to meditation is offered on the 2nd Sunday of each month. All are open to everyone and are ‘drop-in’.
